In the morning, travellers cross a bridge over the Irrawaddy River to Sagaing which covered with 600 white-painted pagodas and monasteries. Sagaing Hill, home to 3,000 monks and 100 meditation centers, is widely considered as the religious center of Myanmar. Move backwards to the city and stop at Amarapura, the former capital that its name means ‘City of Immortality’. Here, tourists can visit a silk weaving workshop, walk along U Bein which is a 200 year-old bridge constructed from 984 teak posts that were a part of the deserted Inwa Palace. Thanks to its 1.2 kilometers in length, U Bein has recognized the world’s longest teak span. Tourists can stroll along the bridge and enjoy the fabulous views of the farms and streams in the surrounding area.
Visitors are transferred back to Mandalay center in the late afternoon and finish the interesting journey.
